Having the honour to acknowledge receipt of
your letter of the 30th October, in reply to mine of
the 28th. idem, I would deem it a favour if you will
recognize the existing licences for carrying passengers
granted by the Harbour Master of Macau to the S/S "Wing
Lee" and S/S "Lima" on the distinct understanding that
the recognition of these two permits will not be
considered as a precedent unless in compliance with
the laws of this Colony and until a Convention has
been signed between Great Britain and Portugal.
